TTE Landing Page Redesign
BRANDING | DESIGN RESEARCH | WEB DESIGN
Texas Tribune Events are a series of statewide public forums and live discussions covering politics, policy, and civic engagement. Attendees RSVP through dedicated landing pages, which serve as the primary info hub and conversion point for each event.
DESIGNING THE EXPERIENCE
Redesign the RSVP landing page template for Texas Tribune Events to improve usability and consistency across event types. The solution needed to be mobile-responsive, scalable, and considerate of both user pain points and internal workflow needs.
WHO WE’RE SPEAKING TO
Civic-minded Texans interested in attending public events about current issues. Also designed with Tribune staff in mind: those managing event content and publishing workflows.

TRUST THE PROCESS
This redesign was driven by a key disconnect: branded promo graphics didn’t align with their corresponding event landing pages. This surfaced deeper pain points:
Pages were difficult to build on short timelines
Information lacked clear hierarchy
Mobile and tablet versions felt clunky
These insights came from discussions with the Events, Development, and Design teams. While formal user research (interviews, surveys) wasn’t possible due to time and budget, we moved forward with informed assumptions based on internal feedback.
Both internal and market analyses helped define visual gaps and position our landing pages alongside competitors in the newsroom events space.
Low-fidelity wireframes mapped key improvements:
Separating text from imagery for clarity
Using icons for event essentials (time, date, location)
Streamlining the speaker section to reduce scrolling
Carrying promo branding through to the full page experience
CREATIVITY IN ACTION
The result: a modern, streamlined event landing page template. Stakeholders can easily update content by swapping text and images, while attendees get key event info at a glance, with the option to scroll for more.
